Frequently Asked Questions

We will first have a free 15 minute consultation phone call to discuss your reasons for seeking treatment and goals for treatment. Next, we will have one to three consultation appointments to determine the treatment approach. In the treatment of children and teenagers, I meet with parents for the initial appointments to obtain the necessary history before meeting the child.

I offer both in-person and virtual options for treatment. I am licensed in California, so I can only treat patients that live in California. While I offer virtual sessions when clinically appropriate, I feel that in-person treatment deepens the therapeutic work and may recommend that patients come for in-person sessions when possible.
-
When providing therapy, I usually see patients once or twice a week. I offer more frequent sessions when needed. When seeing children or teenagers for therapy, I will also see parents weekly or every other week to maintain a collaborative relationship for helping the child. Family therapy is usually once a week. For medication management, I will often recommend to see patients weekly when starting medications and appointments can be spaced out when patients are on a consistent medication regimen. I require that patients have appointments at least every three months to remain active in my practice.
